Remembering Rance C. Partridge
Rance lost his mother at 4 months of age. He lived with his maternal grandmother until he was 9 months old. After that he was raised by his father and sister. I was 12 years old. I can remember warming milk for his bottle at night over an oil lamp (couldn't do that today-too shaky would break the globe.)
In spite of humble beginnings and deprivation, Rance with his wife Mary was able to become very successful in life. Raising two daughters, Cathy the oldest who survives graduated with a degree in pharmacy from the University of Pitt. this lovely young lady has been a great joy and comfort to her parents and continues to be to her mother.
Tragically, a young daughter Melissa, while still in college, died as a result of a car accident leaving a very young beautiful "Rance's word" baby Kristina.
Rance and Mary raised Kristina with pride and joy. She is currently in college.
Although Rance and Mary had many heartaches having lost and older son several years ago at a young age to illness Rance remained upbeat and cheerful. With his gregarious personality he will be fondly remembered as a hard worker and dedicated family man that exited this life too soon.
