Donald R. Leax, Sandy Creek Twp. Passed away on October 25, 2017, he was 83.
He was born in Wilkins Twp. Allegheny County on July 27, 1934 a son of the late Paul and Marie (Downes) Leax. He married the former Lyrel Jane Hahn in 1954 she passed away in 1968. He married the former Mary Micsky in June 1970, she passed away in 2001. He married the former Sue Ann Garner in September of 2005 who passed away in 2007. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1954 and the Air Force in 1966 and Served for 22 1/2 Years. Before Working for the Bessemer Railroad. He attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Greenville, Pa and Sheakleyville United Methodist Church Sheakleyville, Pa and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermarkers and Blacksmiths as well as the Commodore Perry Lions.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Gardening, Hunting, Fishing, Traveling and flying his own plane.
He is survived by his children Edward Leax (Lydia) of Hermitage, Gary Leax Seattle, WA. Gary Micsky (Brenda) of Greenville, Vicki Micsky of Greenville, Pamela Scabilloni ( John) of Seven Fields, Pa 7 Grandchildren Brian and Susan Micsky, William, Nicholas and Elizabeth Scabilloni, Marissa and Maynilla Grudowski. He is also survived by a special friend, Laura Thompson, Greenville, who he enjoyed her companship and friendship.
He was proceded in death by a daughter Donna two brothers Paul and Carl Leax, two sister Betty Regis and Labethia M. Fencemaker.
The funeral service will be held on Monday October 30, 2017 at 11 am at the Sheakleyville United Methodist Church with Rev. Timothy Bowser officiating . Military honors following .
