I was a member of Laban's CSA from its founding until I moved away from NW PA last summer. He was such a vital part of the market house community, and such a special soul, sharing grace, and vegetables, with all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Labens passing. Although I haven't seen him for years, I have wonderful memories of Rosedale and the Gospel team we were on. I loved to hear him play guitar and banjo. Several of us would sing together and that was a lot of fun. I was blessed to know him!

Our prayers and thoughts go out to your family. What a shock to receive this news! I (Janet) have so many good memories of Chorale with Laban, especially our tour to Europe in '77. May God wrap you in His comforting arms.

I sigh just thinking how to start, and what to say. This comes as such a shock. Laban. A beautiful soul, whose intelligence and gentleness shine like stars. I wish you would have stayed with us a little longer.

Message from Arlo and Sharon Schmidt
January 16, 2016 6:50 AM

Arlo and I both have wonderful memories of time well spent with the Kurtz family long before we were married. Arlo particularly remembers a trip to Rosedale in the jeep with Laban. He also remembers the winter snow pile that created a "mountain" climbing experience with the jeep. What a blessing to know Laban entered into our Father's presence. He fought a good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith. Praying God's peace and comfort for all the family during this time of parting and continuing on. God bless and keep you.
