Helen F. (Johnson) Letonek

Helen F. Letonek, Georgetown Road, Hadley (Sandy Creek Twp.)was promoted to Heaven at 4:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2015.  She was 86.

She was born in Carmel, Indiana on December 21, 1928  daughter of Ira and Ethel (Jones) Johnson. She met Jesus at a church camp at age 15. She graduated with a B.A. from Marion Bible Institute, Marion, Indiana, on May 28, 1952. The next day, she married Steve Letonek.  She had been employed by Thiel College in the Housekeeping Department for  19 years.  She ministered alongside her husband at West Fairfield Wesleyan Methodist Church for 59 years. She was active in the Women’s Missionary Society.  Music was an important part of Helen’s  life. She enjoyed playing the trumpet and piano. Simple things gave her joy in life. She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and never regretted living for him. She went home to her Savior peacefully and with anticipation.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, daughter Teresa Neely and her husband Jim of Barberton, Ohio, Twin sons; Marcus Letonek and his wife Lisa of Parker and Marshall Letonek and his wife Nancy of Grove City. 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infants,  3 brothers and 3 sisters and a son- in- law, Jefferson Ford. 

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. William Cope, president of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Conference officiating.  The interment will follow at the Good Hope Cemetery, Greenville.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 – 1:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences with the family online at www.snyderfh.com.
