Mark, Mike, Tammy, and families.
Sending my heartfelt sympathy for your loss, to you all. I will always remember your Dad. He was a special person, and my whole family valued his friendship a great deal. He was always a really good friend of my Dad's. They shared many projects, and trips, and laughs together. I remember when I was in grade school and my Dad had very bad back pain, and was flat out on the floor in an upstairs bedroom, unable to move. Elmer came to the house right away and picked my Dad up and carried him "Piggy back" down the stairs and outside and loaded him into the car to go to a hospital in Maryland. I think Elmer would have carried him all the way there, if it had been needed......that's the kind of man I knew him as, one whose friendship and loyalty and selflessness was unending. I know he will be sorely missed. Prayers for you all in this difficult time. Deb (Smock) Cigis

My sister Ann said it all. Elmer was good man with a big warm heart. He was a hard worker at Steel Car then came home to the farm and worked another 8 hours or so. He gave his spare time and support to many community organizations including the Boy Scouts, the Sheakleyville Fire Department . He believed in honesty and fair play. If we got out of line when we were young , Elmer would set us straight. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. My sympathies to his wonderful famlly and close friends . God Bless
