Waltraud "Trudy" Huber Obituary

Waltraud (Trudy) Elizabeth Huber formerly of Meadville and a resident of Avalon Springs Place, Mercer went to be with the Lord on December 10th, 2020 following a sudden illness.  She was 76.

She was born on March 6th, 1944, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. She immigrated to Northwestern Pennsylvania in 1964 and lived there the rest of her life. Trudy courageously battled Multiple Sclerosis for more than 30 years.

Trudy loved the country life and her farm in Hayfield Township. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds on the back deck and could recite the names of each of her cows. She also loved music and was a huge fan of Elvis and Tom Jones and would fondly tell the story of when she served pizza to Elvis in Germany. She was proud of her German roots and maintained close ties with her family and friends there.

Trudy has worked at various places in the Meadville area but is best remembered for working at the former Kafferlin Bar and Grill where she was well known for the home made soups that she made.  She was a member of the Meadville Order of the Eastern Star and through her  social memberships at the Meadville VFW, the Meadville American Legion, the Vernon Central Hose Company and the Vernon Volunteers she enjoyed her many friends and activities.

She is survived by her loving children, Dora Landeros of Phoenix, Hans Deffner of San Antonio, Tx., and Chris Evans of Greenville; her stepchildren Orville (Bud) Huber, Michael Huber and Jennifer Huber; a granddaughter Jacqui Barreras of Phoenix, a grandson, Hans Deffner of San Antonio, Tx., a granddaughter, Samantha Evans of Meadville; a great granddaughter, Lily Barreras of Phoenix and several step grandchildren. Trudy is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins in Germany.

Trudy is remembered as a kind and loving person who easily made many friends through the years.  She will be sadly missed by all her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Hermine Deffner of Germany, her husband, Orville Huber of Meadville, her ex-husband, Albert Evans of Greenville, her granddaughter, Olivia Deffner of Dallas, and her stepson William Huber of Meadville.

Private graveside services will be held at the Denny Cemetery, Hayfield Twp.

The family will hold a private service at a later date and has suggested that memoriall tributes be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
