Walter Weaver Obituary

Walter E. Weaver, Cochranton, (Fairfield Twp.) passed away in the comfort of his home early, Saturday morning, April 25, 2020.  He was 79.

He was born in Captina, WV. on June 6, 1940 a son of the late William and Hazel (Knox) Weaver.  On June 22, 2003 he married the former Carolyn L. Coldren who survives.  Walt had served with the U S Army  and then went onto operate Weaver Auto, Cochranton along with his brother.  He then worked for PennDot, retiring after 18 years of service.  Walt enjoyed working in his gardens, going to airshows and photography.

In addition to his wife Carolyn, he is survived by a son, Jason Jones and his fiancé Ruth Lyle, Cochranton; a step daughter, Rita Baker, Hadley; a brother, William P. Weaver, Jr., Cochranton; 4 sisters, Lillian M. Drakulic, Erie, Mildred E. Irwin, Cochranton, Donna L Reed and her husband Larry, Greenville and Sharlene “Kay” K. Reed and her husband Jim, Cochranton, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 siblings, Freda, Owen, Richard, Gloria, Kenneth, Joyce and Violet.

No services will be held. Walter will be laid to rest at the Mumford Chapel Cemetery, Cochranton.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
