Wallace D. Yoder, Meadville, passed away on July 29, 2021 at the Marquette Hospice House, Meadville, PA. He was 83.
He was born in Meadville on January 2, 1938 to David and Mattie (Miller) Yoder. In his early years, Wally had been a farmer and later went on to own and operate W.D. Yoder Contracting. On August 8, 1974 he married the former Dawn R. Ruby who had preceded him in death on March 27, 2013 He was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, Conneaut Lake.
He is survived by one son, Randy S. (Cindy) Yoder of Conneautville; four step children, Jason Gleason, Pittsburgh and Jeff Gleason, Atlanta, GA., Kathi Zimmer, Pittsburgh, and Debbie Runkle, Denver, CO.; four granddaughters, Jolene Kuhn, Charlene Proctor, Christine Yoder, Justine Hagge; five step grandchildren Darcy Luby, Dianna Dahl, Jessica Heeringa, Zachary Zimmer and Justin Runkle; nine great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Jake Yoder, David E. Yoder, Raymond Yoder, Alvin D. Yoder; three sisters Ada D. Sommers, Amanda Eichorn, Sarah Yoder, and two infant brothers, Phineas and Adan Yoder.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy, Sheakleyville. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 15, 10:30 AM at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 12981 Foust Road, Conneaut Lake.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
