Timothy Frederick Alter

April 23, 1979 ~ August 23, 2021 (age 42)


Timothy Frederick Alter, Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 23, 2021, at his residence.  He was 42.

Tim was born in Meadville on April 23, 1979 a son of Lawrence A. “Jasper” Dickson and Donnarae Alter.  He had been self employed as a logger and enjoyed the outdoors where he could be found camping, travelling, riding ATV’s and dirt bikes.  His passion was riding his Harley Davison motorcycle.  He was an avid follower of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his children, Shaun Alter, Greenville, Jocelyn (CJ) Alter, Red Lion, Taylor (Mathew) Alter, New Wilmington and Kadence Alter, Greenville; his mother, Donnarae Morrison, Cochranton; his siblings, Cody Morrison, Cochranton, Kati (Joe) Weimer, Waynesburg Julie (Michael) Prentice, Clarks Mills, Bruce (Madelynne) Dickson, Hadley, Gary (Danielle) Dickson, Greenville, Mike Riley, Greenville.  His grandmothers, Jane Dickson, Greenville and Alice McGowan, Meadville.  Many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. His grandchildren, Jaelynn, Nikolletta, Julian, Kendrahlynn and 3 additional grandchildren due in the coming months.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandfathers, Robert J. Alter, Sr., J.K. “Dutch” Dickson and an uncle Robert J. “Bus” Alter, Jr.

The family will be privately celebrating the life of Tim at a later date.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
