Richard Hill Obituary

Richard (Rich) Anthony Hill, Meadville passed away on March 27, 2024, at the Embassy at Hermitage, Hermitage, PA. He was 76.

He was born on Long Island, NY on August 5, 1947, to Claude R. and Mary M. (McGarvey) Hill. He graduated from St. Agatha High School in Meadville, PA in 1966 and served for four years in the US. Army, stationed in Korea and Pennsylvania until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He married Janice Sewell on August 5, 1972. She preceded him in death as did his parents and two brothers Charles and Timothy Hill.

Rich is survived by his son Brandon Hill of Houston, TX and daughter Rachel (Daryl) Bosco of Meadville, PA as well as his sister Teresa Bulik of Tampa, FL and his brother Brian Hill of Meadville, PA. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Hannah and Payton Hill and Nolan Bosco, and with his large family and many friends.

Rich had a varied career, working in manufacturing and other jobs until he became a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. He delivered mail throughout the city of Meadville for 36 years. If you gave him an address anywhere in the city, he could tell you who lived there. If you gave him a name, he could give you the address. Rich loved the outdoors, hunting, angling, hiking, and camping. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, and watching football, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a notable handyman, lending his skills to his family, friends, and neighbors.

There will be a memorial gathering at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
