Philip Curtin Obituary

Philip M. Curtin, age 74 of Otter Creek Twp, Greenville, PA, passed into eternal life on March 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

Phil was born on October 10, 1949, in Greenville, PA, the son of George Philip and Juanita J. Speir Curtin. On October 11, 1995, he and Dolly M. Varner joined hands in holy matrimony. She survives.

Phil graduated from Reynolds High School in 1968. Following graduation, he was employed & managed the Ashland gas station in Greenville, after which he became employed with McLean Trucking Co, D.R., Thompson Farm Supply, R.D. Werner Co, and retired from Mercer County Prison as a Corrections Officer.

Phil loved living on the farm owned by his grandfather, where he spent much of his time growing up and later purchased. He raised black angus cattle for over 50 years. He considered the cattle his hobby and referred to them as "the girls".

Phil was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His sons, Philip and Lee made him very proud. The three could always count on each other with unconditional love. Phil and his cousin, Tim Hoover, talked nearly every evening, developing a very tight bond between the two for many years.

Phil is survived by his mother, Juanita Curtin, wife, Dolly, sons Philip H (Angela) of Zelienople, and Lee M. (Jenna), and sister Patti (Les) Cotton, all of Greenville. Step-daughter, Dawn (Brian) Lamberton of Franklin. Grandsons, Hunter and Huck along with step-grandchildren Ayla (Austin), Kerrin (Nate), Kendall (Jake), Karlie (Cavan), and Austin, and three great-grands, Flint, Dakota, and Layne.

Phil was an amazing man and will be greatly missed by many.

Phil was preceded in death by his father and stepson, Daniel R. Snyder.
