Opal Irene Baird, age 85, of Conneaut Lake passed peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Marquette Hospice House, Meadville.
Opal was a life long resident of Atlantic, born on September 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Tracy and Mabel (Rice) Calvin. She married David E. Baird and he preceded her in death in 1993. Opal was a homemaker and had worked at the former Mitchell Home Care for those with special needs. She was a member of the Atlantic Community Church and had actively participated in the Atlantic Friendship Circle and the Atlantic Friends and Flowers Club.
She is survived by her children, Arvilla (Sherman) Allen of Conneaut Lake, Georgia (Terry) Piatt of Conneaut Lake and David (Kim) Baird, Jr. of Hartstown; a brother, Arden Calvin of Greenville; four grandchildren, Tracy (Brad) Murdock, Brian (Ashley) Piatt, Nelson (Allison) Baird and Dustin (Stephanie) Baird and seven great grandchildren, David Piatt, Savannah Murdock, Charlene Baird, Jameson Piatt, Nellene Baird, Willow Piatt and Mason Leister.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Roger Calvin, Stanley Calvin, and Robert Calvin.
The funeral and committal service will be held 4:00pm on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Harold Walton, pastor of the Atlantic Community Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4pm and 5-7pm. Opal will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mushrush Cemetery.
