Lavina M. (Burdette) Varner

Lavina M. Varner, Hadley (Perry Twp.) passed away early Friday morning, April 16, 2021 in the comfort of her home.  She was 84.

Lavina was born in Stoneboro on December 12, 1936 a daughter of David Herman and Elaine (Bowers) Burdette.  On May 29, 1953 she married Donald C. Varner who preceded her in death on March 15, 2000.  Mrs. Varner was of the protestant faith, was an avid reader who always enjoyed the times she could be with her family and is remembered by her family as being a very caring and giving person.

She is survived by her three sons, Donald Varner, Hadley, Jeffrey Varner and his wife Cheryl, Greenville and Roger Varner and his wife Janine, Baden; 7 grandchildren, Craig Varner, Matthew Varner, Angela McKeown, Louise Johnson, Paul Varner, Jonathan Varner and Chloe Varner and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Vickie Varner and two sisters, Nancy Shepard and Dorothy Eakman.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.  Lavina will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at the Hadley Cemetery.  Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and may share memories and condolences with the family online at www.snyderfh.com
