Kenneth Ghering Obituary

Kenneth A. Ghering, Fredonia (Delaware Twp.) passed away Thursday evening, September 23, 2021, at the UPMC- Hamot, Erie.  He was 77.

Ken was born on January 20, 1944, a son of the late Kenneth and Minta (Wood) Ghering.  On December 28, 1975, he married the former Shirley J. Bailey, who preceded him in death on August 22, 2015.  He had been employed at General Motor’s Lordstown, Ohio from where he retired after 35 years of service.   He had served honorably with the U.S. Army.  Ken was a member of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church and had most recently been attending the Adamsville Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Stinson and his wife Teresa, Youngstown, OH; two daughters, Kimberly Ferguson and her husband Dennis, Cape Coral and Christina L. Miller and her husband Steven, Jeffersonton, VA; a special friend, Leona Moyer, Adamsville; 4 grandchildren, Kenny Stinson, Hunter Stinson, Matthew Miller and Deanna Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris E. Santagelo.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Adamsville Presbyterian Church, 3979 Main Street, Adamsville with Pastor Harry Johns, III officiating.  Military honors will be accorded following the service, Ken will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Delaware Cemetery, Fredonia. 

Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com 

Due to the recent uptick in Covid-19 concerns, the family respectfully request that facial masks be worn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the Adamsville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 56, Adamsville, PA 16110
