Janene K. (Zimmer) Minshull

Janene K. Minshull, Stoneboro, New Vernon Twp. passed away in the comfort of her home with her family by her side, early Wednesday evening, May 13, 2021.  She was 64.

Janene was born in Mercer, Pa on May 8, 1957 a daughter of the late James Brown and Jean (Amon) Zimmer.  She was a 1975 graduate of Lakeview High School and then went on to attend Dental Hygienist Schooling in Rochester, N.Y.  On April 4, 1979 she married Alan Curtis Minshull who survives.  She had been employed at the Polk Center, then took time off to raise her children and then completed her working career as a health unit coordinator at the UPMC, Horizon.

Janene possessed a strong Christian faith and was an inspiration to many through her uplifting and caring personality.  Through the years, her home was always open and she became a second mom to many who would affectionately refer to her as their “Mom”.  She was a Pro-Life advocate and was co-founder of Pro-Life Education Alliance), Mercer (PLEA).  She enjoyed singing gospel music with her husband Curt.

Janene always enjoyed the many family trips to Nags Head, N.C. and would spend countless hours enjoying the beauty of the beach and the ocean.  She was able to return to the ocean and beach on a family trip this past April.

She is survived by her husband Curt; a son Phillip Minshull, Stoneboro; a daughter, Stephanie Mittlemeier and her companion, Corrinne Pikna, Stoneboro; three brothers, Gary Zimmer, Sandy Lake, James “Denny’ Zimmer and his wife Barbara, Sandy Lake and Michael Zimmer and his wife Beverly, Polk; 1 grandson, Roman Mittlemeier.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Virginia (Ginger) Zimmer.

The family will be remembering and celebrating Janene’s life with a memorial service to be held at the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church on Sunday,  May 23, 2021 at 3:00 PM.  The service will be live streamed at www.twitch.tv/slpcsecretary1
