Hilda Elsie (Starcher) Bailey

Hilda Elsie Bailey, Meadville passed away early Tuesday morning, November 10, 2020 at the UPMC Hamot, Erie.  She was 68.

Hilda was born in Charleston, West Virginia on July 18, 1952 a daughter of the late Clyde and Audrey (Clendenin) Starcher. On March 15, 1969 she married Richard L. “Dick” Bailey who had preceded her in death on June 29, 2011.  She had been employed as a cook at Pizza Hut.

Hilda enjoyed reading and gardening.  She appreciated her family and many friends and always enjoyed the moments that she was able to share with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Jo (Gregory) Patchen of Meadville, Debbie L (Leslie) Smith of Sandy Lake and Nikita (Brett) Rose, Meadville;  A son Richard L Bailey Jr of Conneautville; two granddaughters, Hope L. Stritzinger and Anna R. Bailey;  three grandsons, Fred J. Stritzinger, Jr., Matthew J. Powell and Tyler J. Powell; two great grandsons Fred J Stritzinger, III and Lincoln A Stritzinger; 4 sisters,  Georgia (John) Chrisman, Fran (Robert) Lew, Debbie Bish and  Diane (John) Craine; a sister in law, Connie Starcher; a brother in law, Edward Tobin and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, a beloved daughter, Bonnie L. Bailey; a grandson, Brandon Babin;  a brother Woodrow Starcher and a sister Barbara Tobin

Private family services will be held at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Geneva Memorial Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.snyderfh.com
