Harry Norbet Kasbee, Meadville formerly of Perry Twp., Hadley passed away at his residence early, Wednesday morning, September 28, 2022. He was 89.
Harry was born in Sandy Lake on October 17, 1932, a son of the late John S. and Stella (Kamerer) Kasbee. On April 11, 1952, he married the former Shirley M. Thompson who survives at home. Mr. Kasbee, had been employed for over 30 years at the former Chicago Bridge and Iron, Greenville and then went onto be employed at the former Greenville Steel Car. Through out the years, he had farmed the family farm in Perry Twp. and was a buyer and seller of cattle. He was a member of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church. Harry enjoyed the family vacations at the beach, attending auction of all sorts, dealing in cattle and he had a passion for all styles of dancing with a special enjoyment for square dancing.
He is remembered by his family and friends for his strong and passionate work ethic and his ability to always have a fun time.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, Shirley, he is survived by two sons; John Kasbee, Hadley and James (Dianne) Kasbee, Hadley; two daughters, Joyce (John R.) Chess, Clarks Mills and Julie (Walter) Vincent, Hartstown; a brother, Donald (Sherry) Kasbee, Fresno, CA; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Kasbee Fernandes, Shayna (David) Kasbee Parks, David Fritz, Amanda Fritz, Michael Kasbee, Kevin Kasbee, Breanna (Brian) Hooks, Sgt. Cordell Kasbee, U.S. Army, STSSN Braden Vincent, U.S. Navy, Collin Vincent and Arabella Vincent and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his parents; three brothers, Paul V. Kasbee, John S. Kasbee, Jr. and Raymond Kasbee and 5 sisters, Effie Hyde, Pauline Kasbee, Ruth Fry, Kathryn Powell and Jean Lucas.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. He will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 -4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
