George Harold Christopher, 81, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 18, 2020 at his home. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, George was the son of George F. Christopher and Agnes Skavabalak who preceded him in death, as did his wife Bonnie Lee Miller and son George E. Christopher.
He is survived by children: son, Michael G. Christopher; and daughters: Connie L. Wollenweber (Markus), Lorraine J. Christopher, Joann L. Christopher, Diann L. McMahon (Pat Lovejoy). George adored his grandchildren: Scott, Gabrielle, Peyton, Evie, Erin, Austin, and Logan; his two great-granddaughters: Maxie and Sadie; and enjoyed sharing time with his other extended family members and friends.
George avidly loved being an active participant in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Time permitting, George enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s extracurricular activities and proudly displayed their school colors, traveling distances to support seeing them perform in sports and other events. His true passion which he shared with his whole family was boating, camping, bingo, roller skating, and a love of amusement parks (riding his last rollercoaster at the age of 78). George would spontaneously take little road trips; however, if you wanted to know where he was going you would have to tag along.
And let us not forget that George was a lifelong true fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers!
A memorial / celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021 when it is safe to gather again (please let us know if you would like to be included in this event). In the meantime, we appreciate all the love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of George on the following memorial website.
Arrangements entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funereal Home and Crematory, Sheakleyville, Pennsylvania.
