Floyd C. Ritchie, Greenville (Salem Twp.) passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home early Sunday morning, February 28, 2021. He was 81.
Floyd was born in Sagamore, Pennsylvania On July 20, 1939 a son of the late Carl and Mary (Juart) Ritchie. On September 3, 1960 he married the former Olive P. Alabran who survives. Floyd had been employed in his early years operating a milk route in the Smickburg, PA area. He then went onto work at the former Greenville Steel Car and later was self employed along with his wife operating Ritchie’s PA. Dutch Country, Jamestown where they sold Amish made furniture and crafts . Mr. Ritchie was a member of the Bethel Life Worship Center, Greenville.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Olive; two daughters, Marsha Carlson, Greenville and Darlene McCracken and her husband Patrick, Greenville; a son, Carl Ritchie, Greenville; a sister, Lavinna Mangennie, Smicksburg; a brother, Ralph Juart and his wife Robin, Smicksburg; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Carr, Barbara Penniman, Nick Carlson and Tyler McCracken; 8 great grandchildren, Logan Carr, Ethan Carr, Seth Carr, Kylie Carlson, Halie Carlson, Isaac Carlson and Gabrielle and Desirea Penniman.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Kent Bell, pastor of the Bethel Life Worship Center officiating. Floyd will be laid to rest at the Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday.
