Edward H. Platt, Hadley, (Perry Twp.) passed away at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. He was 86.
He was born in Pittsburgh on September 7, 1934 a son of the late Edward L. and Dolores K. (Thinnes) Platt. On November 10, 1956 he married the former Constance M. Wilson who preceded him in death on March 16, 2002. He had been employed in the maintenance department of the University of Pittsburgh from which he had retired. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Ed is survived by his children, Edward (Shawn) Platt, Tampa, FL, Linda (Richard) Ziner, Bethel Park, Kenneth A. Platt and his companion Lisa Scurto, Kearneysville, WV., Jeff (Marcia) Platt, Penn Hills, Brian Platt, Romney, WV and Eric Platt, Lower Burrell. ; two sisters, Dee Dee McCune, Pittisburgh and Diane (Tom) Gollick, Mars; a brother Ronald (Mary Ann) Platt, Portersville; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Constance and two brothers, Joe and Paul Platt.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 9:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Pastor John Canon officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Family and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at the funeral home from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.
