David E. Groover, Jr. Hadley, Salem Twp. passed away of natural causes late Saturday evening, May 27, 2023, at the Sharon Regional Hospital. He was 55.
He was born in Greenville, on March 14, 1968, a son of David E. and Jo Anne E. (Tobin) Groover, Sr.
David was a 1987 graduate of Commodore Perry High School. His family was his number 1 priority, and he always cherished the moments he could share with them. He enjoyed racing of all sorts, especially dirt racetrack racing and NASCAR races. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and appreciated the companionship of his cat, “Critter”. In spite of the adversities that he encountered with his muscular dystrophy, he always remained optimistic and encouraging to everyone.
Left to cherish his memory are his father, David E. Groover, Sr., Hadley, his sister, Daveena Thorne and her fiancée, John Niemy, Hermitage; two nephews, Linwood Thorne, III and his wife Heather, Grove City and Dillion Thorne, Hadley; a niece, Paige – Marie Polkabla and her husband Ryan, Greenville and 4 great nieces and nephews, Bentley Thorne, Aleiha Polkabla, Paislee Plokable and Madylin Polkabla.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Anne, and a brother, Kenneth Groover.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 2:00 -4:00 PM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. David will be laid to rest at the Rocky Glenn Cemetery
