Daryl Smock Obituary

Daryl R. Smock, Greenville (formerly of Clarks Mills) passed away early Friday morning, May 29, 2020 at his residence.  He was 62.

Daryl was born in Greenville, on May 11, 1958 a son of Robert L. and Patricia L. (Forney) Smock. On June 27, 1981 he married the former Sheila Lynn Peters who preceded him in death on May 9, 2011.  He had been employed at the former Greenville Steel Car, Ohio Hardwood and most recently Clinch Tite Corp.  He also had been employed doing farm work for Dr. Steele.   He attended the Countryside Evangelical Church, Clarks Mills. 

Daryl loved being outdoors, always enjoying camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling and hunting in West Virginia and Wyoming.  He enjoyed travelling with his wife and family and is remembered by his family for his bigheartedness and the  kindness that he always showed towards others.   He was the favorite uncle who always enjoyed teasing and tormenting his nieces and nephews and most recently his great nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia L. Smock, Greenville; three sisters, Debra L. Cigis and her husband John, Utica, Denise L. Cochran and her husband Alan, Stoneboro and De Anna “Dee” Heckman and her husband Mark.   Many very special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Sheila and a niece, Amber Lynn Wimer Reges.

For those comfortable in attending, the family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.   Private family services will follow with Pastor Donald Howell of the Countryside Evangelical Church officiating.  Social distancing and adherence to current CDC guidelines will be required.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the caregivers from CRI for the excellent care that they had provided to Daryl over the last nine years. Their kindness and concern is greatly appreciated.
