C. Orville "Pat" Patterson Obituary

C. Orville "Pat" Patterson, Fairview Twp., Fredonia passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Greystone Country Estates, Fredonia. He was 94. 

 
He was born on the family homestead in Fairview Twp. on February 7, 1928, to the late Elmer and Myrtle (Foust) Patterson. On November 5, 1954, he married the former M. Joan Black who survives. 

 
Mr. Patterson served honorably with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received a purple heart for injuries that he sustained in the line of duty. He began his working career working for his brother, Paul at Patterson Block, Clarks Mills. He then went on to work at the former Reznor LLC, Mercer, retiring after 35 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked for ADESA, Mercer for over 20 years. He was a former member of the Carpenters Corners Church of Christ and the Mercer County Antique Power Association.  

Pat, as he was known to his family and friends, loved to bowl, participating in several area 
leagues. He enjoyed attending the McQuiston Senior Center, Sandy Lake, and participating in their activities. He enjoyed shuffleboard and playing euchre and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting. 
 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, M. Joan; his children, Gail (Larry) Ennis, Hadley, and Gary ( Susan) Patterson, Fredonia; a sister, Phyllis Pears, Liberty, TX; 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Julie) Ennis, Sheree (Mark) Workman, Cristy (Scott) Anderson, Andy Patterson, Sarah Orndorff, and Danny Patterson; 4 great­ grandchildren, Chase Orndorf, Avery Orndorf, Maverick Ennis, and Lucas Ennis. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Willard Patterson, Raymond Patterson, Paul Patterson, Robert Patterson and Elmer Patterson and 5 sisters, Elsie Hart, Dorothy Bromley, Genevieve Brooks, Gladys Gregory and Alice Mecklem. 
 

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia with Rev. Duane Mecklem officiating. He will be laid to 
rest at Hadley Cemetery with military honors accorded. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am time of service. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com.
The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the 
McQuiston Senior Center, Sandy Lake or to Greystone Country Estates, Fredonia.
