Betty L. Sommers, 87, of Hadley, PA, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Linda (Robert) McDowell.
She was born December 23, 1933, in the Belleville, PA, area, to Andrew M. and Mary L. Miller. On May 19, 1955, she married Walter Sommers, to whom she was married for 40 years. They were married in Hartville, OH, and in 1964 they moved to Cochranton, PA. Betty accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her youth. Betty and her husband raised 8 children at Pilgrim Fellowship Church, where she was a faithful member. She was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed interacting with family and friends.
Surviving are 7 children: David (Patricia) Sommers, Abbeville, SC; Edwin (Elsie) Sommers, Fresno, OH; Linda (Robert) McDowell, Cochranton, PA; Mary (David) Witmer, Hadley, PA; Carol (Daniel) Witmer, Hadley, PA; Naomi (Kenneth) Gerber, Carthage, NY; Mark (Beth) Sommers, Tremonton UT; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (the late Henry)Sommers, Fairview, MO. She is also survived by 49 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 38 step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Henry, her sisters Barbara and Fannie, and a great-granddaughter.

For those comfortable in attending the funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 am at the Pleasantview Conservative Mennonite Church, County Line Road, Cochranton. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Pilgrim Fellowship Cemetery, Deer Creek Twp. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 2:00 -4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy. Sheakleyvillle.
