Betty Louise Kittelmann, 94, of Passavant Retirement Community of Zelienople, formerly of Roberts Rd., Millcreek Twp., passed away Monday evening, October 30, 2023.
Born October 22, 1929, to the late John Lester and Dorothy (Vosler) Roberts at the Vosler homestead. Betty Lou attended the Vosler one-room school and graduated as an honor student from Penn High in Greenville with the class of 1947. This was the largest class up to that time because of the returning boys who had been called to fight for our country in WWII. Upon graduation, Betty Lou worked as a bookkeeper for the First National Bank.
She enjoyed making albums of several generations of the Vosler, Roberts, and Kittelmann families. Other favorite pastimes included reading, especially of local historical events, working in the garden with her flowers, decorating for the holidays, and spending time with family.
Betty Lou married Ernest R. Kittelmann on June 16, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1997. Also, preceding her in death were her parents and her only sister, Roberta Fry.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Brenda Wilson of Canonsburg, Bonita and husband Ronald Gavran of Allison Park; a son, Lance and his wife Dawn of Evans City; five grandchildren, Brooke (Wilson) and husband Jack Bergman of San Diego, CA, Breanna Wilson of the country of Georgia, Lt Colonel Grant Gavran, Air Force and his wife Stephanie of Burlington, VT, Courtney (Gavran) and her husband Nick Balson of Richmond, VA and Max Kittelmann of Indiana, PA; six great grandchildren, Becca Bergman, Brice Bergman, Silvia Balson, Nicky Balson, Violet Gavran and Harrison Gavran.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 2:30pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
