Alvan L. "Bub" Peterson

Alvan L. “Bub” Peterson, Transfer, Pymatuning Twp. passed away Tuesday evening, February 14, 2023, at the Sharon Regional Health Systems.  He was 86.

Born in Greenville on August 18, 1936, the son of the late Thurmon and Mabel S. (Craig) Peterson.  On July 25, 1964, he married the former, Rose Mary Greggs who survives.  Mr. Peterson had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car and later Trinity Industries from which he retired.  He enjoyed taking care of not only his own lawn but also helping others with the maintenance of their lawns and often could be found just tinkering with items around his home.  In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and bowling, participating in several local bowling leagues.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose Mary; a brother Walter (Marion) Peterson, Cochranton; two granddaughters, Jessica Peterson and Kristen Peterson, VA. and a great-granddaughter, Ryan Rose Peterson, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Christopher A. Peterson, Alvin L. “Buddy” Peterson, Jr., and Richard L. Peterson, and three brothers, Paul Peterson, Eugene Peterson, and Ralph Peterson.

No services are scheduled, Mr. Peterson will be laid to rest next to his sons at the Stevenson Cemetery.
