Alberta Lee “Tootie” (Peterson) Redfoot, Clarks Mills, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was 84.
She was born to Fred and Olive Peterson in Cochranton, PA on December 8, 1937. She went to grade school at Nelson and then to Cochranton High School. While in high school she worked at Leta’s Grocery, Cochranton, and later at Ardis Beauty Shop, until 1956 then French Beauty Shop and Lu Ann’s Beauty Shop, she then worked at McKean’s Grocery Store, Sandy Lake, and at GTI, Hadley for Automatic Vendors. She was a graduate of Michele Beauty Academy in Meadville. On January 7, 1956, she married John A. Redfoot who survives.
She attended Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, doing volunteer work for the newsletter, church kitchen, and staff for Prime Timers was a member of the neighborhood Forget Me Knots Homemaker’s Club for over 50 years and had made many wedding cakes throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John, and their four children, Shelby (Terry) Alexander of Fredonia, Audrey Bates of Jamestown, Jerry (Michele) Redfoot of Sandy Lake, and Karen (Bill) Egger of Clarks Mills; eight grandchildren, Wade Alexander, Greg (Megan) Alexander, Glenn, and Ashley Bates, Gretchen (Dan ) Engstrom, Emily Redfoot and Darren and Alaina Egger; two step-grandchildren, Rita Stell and Ronald Bates and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jodie Alexander, and a son-in-law Ron Bates; a brother, Hugh (Eugene) Peterson, and a sister Agnes Hensel: .
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville. The committal service will follow at the Sheakleyville Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
