Virginia (Barr) Adams

Virginia “Ginny” Adams, District Road, Fredonia (Fairview Twp.) passed away peacefully early Monday morning, August 20, 2018 following a period of failing health.  She was 71.

She was born in Mercer on July 3, 1947 a daughter to the late Ted R. and Jo (Riggs) Barr.  On May 16, 1970 she married Dale R. “Griz” Adams who preceded her in death on November 1, 2013.  Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed picnics and getting together with her family and friends.  She had been a volunteer with the Children’s Aid Society, Mercer and had been an announcer and cook for the Penn – Ohio Rodeo Association.  She had attended the Jerusalem Christian Church, Greenville.

She is survived by her children, Sonya Adams, Jody Adams and Christopher Adams all of Fredonia. Two adoptive daughters, Lynne Clark – Adams and her husband Hubert of Meadville and Fawn Mattocks of Conneaut Lake. A sister Mary Jo Haag and her husband Denny of Clintonville and three grandchildren, Jesse Adams, Angelina Mendez and Isabel Mattocks.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 43 years

.At the request of Virginia, cremation was selected as disposition, the one request that she had was for her family and many friends to gather for a picnic and celebration of her life.   Virginia loved picnics where she was able to gather with her family and friends, consequently the family is hosting a pot luck dinner at the family home located at 1077 District Road, Fredonia on Saturday, August 25, 2018 beginning at 2 pm.  All are invited to attend, please bring a dish to share with those in attendance.  The family would appreciate any help or assistance that you might be able to offer.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 169 Second Street, Fredonia.
