Violet Nottingham Obituary

Violet I. Nottingham, Adamsville was called home on Sunday evening, October 27, 2019 at the Grove at Greenville.  She was 87.

She was born on Greenville on March 27, 1932 a daughter of the late Alvin and Beatrice (Meyers) Moyer.  On March 20, 1954 she married Albert L. Nottingham, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 7, 2009.  Vi was a homemaker and had worked previously at the former G.C. Murphy Company, Greenville and the Gaylord Service Station, Adamsville.  She was a member of the Adamsville Presbyterian Church where she had belonged to the Velma Hayes Women’s Association and had been active through the many years having served as an Elder, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher.  She was a member of the Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge # 198, Atlantic and the Friendship Circle.

 She is survived by a son, Albert L. Nottingham Jr. and his wife Laurrie, Adamsville; a daughter, Kimberly Nottingham, Erie; two siblings, Frank and Lizzie; 2 grandsons, Jermiah Nottingham and his wife Valerie and Jason Nottingham and his wife Rebekah; 4 great grandchildren, Alexander, Logan, Nolan and Jacob Nottingham.  She also is survived by two special lifelong friends, Pat Lofink and Betty Christy.

Violet was always very giving and always willing to help out anyone in need.  She was a beloved Mother, Grandma and Great Mimi

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years; her mom, Anna Pinkl Moyer who had raised her; an infant daughter and several brothers and sisters; her mother and father in law, Basil and Dorothy Nottingham.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Harry Johns, pastor of the Adamsville Presbyterian Church officiating.  The committal service will follow at the Rocky Glen Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and infant daughter.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at www.snyderfh.com
