Thomas Williams Obituary

Thomas L. Williams, formerly of Hayfield Twp. passed away early Sunday morning, August 11, 2019 at the Rolling Field Elder Care Community, Conneautville. He was 91.

Mr. Williams was born in Kane, PA. on December 8, 1927 a son of the late Lester and Elizabeth (Rohan) Williams.  On August 4, 1956 he married the former Lula P. Lewis who preceded him in death on January 28, 2017.  He served with the US Army following his high school graduation and then enlisted with the US Navy and was stationed at the Panama Canal during the Korean War.  He had been employed by Dillamans’ Autobody, Meadville for over 30 years.  Following his retirement, he was a delivery driver for Peterson’s Auto Parts, Saegertown.  He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, The New Castle Consistory, The Erie Shrine Temple, the Kismet Grotto and the American Legion Post #111.  He enjoyed woodworking and took pleasure in watching the many birds that would feed at his homemade bird feeders.  He was an avid follower of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by two sons, Dale (Sarah) Williams, Oregonia, OH and Troy Williams, Gilboa, WV; a daughter, Mary Fairlamb, Simpsonville, SC.; a daughter in law, Leslie Williams, Jackson Center; two brothers, Lester “Jim” Williams, MI and Russell (Beverly) Williams, Meadville; a sister, Delores Reichel, Meadville;  6 grandchildren, Ashley (Dustin) Staples, Cochranton, Darby Downing, Simpsonville, SC, Ruth Williams, Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Williams, Oregonia, OH, Troy Lee Williams, Summersvlle, WV, Maggie Williams, Oregonia, OH, 2 step grandchildren, Kelly Philson, Washington, DC and Melissa (Ryan) McCreary, Edinboro. 2 great grandchildren, Maelynn and Malachi Staples, Cochranton and two step great grandchildren, Aidan and Mason McCreary, Edinboro.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lula; his son Thomas Williams; an infant sister Grace; two brothers, Raymond and Fred Williams.

Respecting the wishes of their father, the family will celebrate and honor his life with a private family services at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3223 Perry Hwy. Sheakleyville. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville with Military Honors accorded.
