Linda M. (Downing) Hughes

Linda M. Hughes, Petersburg Road, Hadley (Sandy Creek Twp.) passed away at 11:33 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Villa’s at St. Paul’s.  She was 74

Linda was born in Greenville on January 19, 1944 a daughter of the late Horton and Catherine (Coulter) Downing.  On August 13, 1960 she married David C. Hughes who survives.  Linda had been employed by the former K Mart at the Meadville Mall retiring in 2006.  She was a member of the Sheakleyville Presbyterian Church and a member of the Hadley Hatter’s Chapter of the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed attending the PrimeTime luncheons at the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church and the 55 plus luncheons at the North Salem United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, a son David E. Hughes, Hadley and a daughter Deborah Yoos and her husband Paul of Greenville. A brother, Russell Downing of Jamestown and two grandchildren, Nicholas Yoos of Pittsburgh and Chelsea Yoos of Rockville, MD.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert Downing.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Janice Good, pastor of the Sheakleyville Presbyterian Church officiating.  Linda will be laid to rest at the Hadley Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and are invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com
