Gordon L. Walker

Gordon L. Walker, Sr. Meadville passed away at Emergency Department of the Meadville Medical Center on Friday morning, Dec. 29, 2017. He was 65.

Gordon was born in Meadville on August 5, 1952 a son of the late David R. and Wanda (Turner) Walker, Sr.  on August 6, 1988 he married Donna Campbell who survives.  He had been employed by Northwest Specialty, Geneva and Hafer Trucking Cochranton.  He was a member of Vernon Central Hose Company and Cochranton Station 4, The Sheffield VFW Post, the Cochranton American Legion and the Meadville Moose Lodge # 2505.  He was a life member and former fire chief of the Greenwood Twp. Vol. Fire Department. He had proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam  Era.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by three sons, Gordon L. Walker, Jr and his wife Jennifer of Conneaut Lake, Robbie Walker and his wife Tammy of Conneaut Lake and Douglas G. Walker of Conneautville.  Two brothers, Paul E. Walker and his wife Sandy of Cochranton and David R. Walker, Jr and his wife Wendy of Jamestown; two sisters, Twila Hager of Atlantic and Brenda McConnell and her husband Bill of Sandy Lake.  A sister in law Carol Walker of Cochranton. 9 Grandchildren, Clinton, Logan, Sydney, Sophie, Zachary, Brady, Mason, Cadence and Brodie Walker and 2 great grandchildren, Ella and Addison Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Eugene Walker and a brother in law Harold Hager.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Virginia Gadsby, pastor of the New Lebanon Community Church officiating.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and invited to share memories and condolences online at snyderfh.com
