Gary L. Greathouse

Gary L. Greathouse Hadley, (Sandy Creek Twp.) passed away peacefully at 12:50 pm on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was 60.

Gary was born in Greenville, PA. on October 22, 1957 a son of Gene and Lois (Patterson) Greathouse.  He was a 1975 graduate of the Commodore Perry High School.  On May 30, 1997 he married the former Patricia Gerber, who survives.  Gary was a self employed drywall contractor and had built several homes over the years with the restoration of an old barn into a quaint residential home in Sandy Creek Twp.  being one of his  life’s major accomplishments.  In addition to his carpentry skills, he possessed a love and enjoyment for stonework.   He was a motor enthusiast having restored several automobiles over the years.

Gary is survived by his wife Patty of 21 years, his mother, Lois Greathouse of Greenville; 4 children, Gabriel Greathouse and his wife Kayla of Sandy Lake, Jordan Greathouse of Hadley, Brandon Laudenslager of Hadley and Chelsea Hart and her husband Brian of Cochranton.  Two brothers, Mark Greathouse and his wife Sharon of Hadley and Randy Greathouse and his wife Andrea of Hadley, a sister, Linda Ratliff of Winston-Salem, N.C.   4 grandchildren, Noah, Liam and Evie Marie Greathouse and Kendra Hart.  Several Nieces and nephews.

He was  preceded in death by his father, Gene and an infant daughter Elizabeth Greathouse.

A time of receiving family and friends to remember and to celebrate the life of Gary will be held on Wednesday, June  6, 2018 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.snyderfh.com.   Respecting the wishes of Gary, cremation has been selected as disposition.
