Emerson Eugene "Gene" Abbott

Emerson Eugene “Gene” Abbott, a resident of the Grove At Greenville, formerly of Kinsman, Ohio passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Sharon Regional Health Systems. He was 94

Emerson was born in Wick, Ohio on November 4, 1924 a son of the late James and Sadie (Mushrush) Abbott.  Gene as he was known to his family and friend had been employed by the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad as a Gandy Dancer, a slang term for one who laid and maintained railroad tracks in the years before the work was done by machines.  He attended the First Baptist Church, Greenville and he was an avid reader.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
