Edward Hammons Obituary

Edward L. (Slim) Hammons, Greenville passed away at 7:10 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the UPMC Hamot with his family by his side.  He was 64.

He was born in Rock Creek, Ohio on June 29, 1954 a son of the late Alfred Edward and Virginia Lynn Hammons. On August 9, 1974 he married Sandra Kay Middlestadt who preceded her in death on August 9, 2015.  He had served with the US Navy and had been employed by Reynolds Service, Inc. as a fork truck operator until having become disabled.

He enjoyed his children and especially his grandchildren - who were the apple of his eye.  He was a motor enthusiast enjoying cars and motorcycles.

Edward is survived by his 6 children, Edward L. Hammons, Jr and his wife Darlene, Greenville, Steven E. Hammons and his wife Morgan, Galion, OH, Virginia L. Hammons and her fiancé Tony Meeks, Transfer, Alfred E. Hammons and his wife Alyssa Blum, Greenville, Donald E. Hammons, Greenville and Kayla Marie Hammons and her fiancé Daniel Malone, Springboro, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a very special friend, Cliff Vickers, Greenville .

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son in law, Ryan Mog and a grandson Donald E. Hammons, Jr.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. concluding with memories being shared celebrating the life of Edward L. Hammons.
