Carolyn M. “Muggs” Swogger, Hadley (Perry Twp.) passed away Monday afternoon, July 29, 2019 at the UPMC Shadyside with her beloved family by her side. She was 74.
She was born in Greenville on January 29, 1945 daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Gibbs) Reagle. On May 23, 1963 she married Russell W. “Buzz” Swogger who survives.
“Muggs” as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, had an entrepreneurial spirt who owned and operated the Greenville Credit Bureau, and Thee Encore Resale Shop, Transfer. She and her husband owned and operated NAPA Auto Parts, Mercer. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
She is survived by her husband “Buzz”; a daughter, Amy (Steve) Chisholm, Hadley; two brothers, Robert (Karen) Gibbs, Meadville and Jim (Janet) Reagle, Pigeon Forge, TN.; a sister, Linda Hasenplug, Greenville; three grandsons, Tyler (Lisa) Powell, Josh Chisholm and Connor Chisholm all of Hadley and three great grandchildren, Bradyn, Emma and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Lisa.
“Muggs” is remembered by her family for her amusingly clever personality, always capable of providing the laughter and wit in any situation. She possessed an infectious personality, always welcoming those not only into her home but also into her heart, she was admired for her determination and strength, as she courageously fought through and faced the many adversities of her last illness. Never complaining or feeling sorry for her situation, but continuing to provide inspiration and peace to all who knew her. Her beautiful soul is now at rest.
Mrs. Swogger has requested that her family honor and remember her life through private family services that will be held at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Adam Stump, pastor of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church officiating.
