Shirley J. (Bailey) Ghering

Shirley J. Ghering, Mercer Road, Fredonia (Delaware Twp.) passed away at 9:30 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 with her family by her side at the UPMC-Passavant, McCandless Twp. She was 65.

Shirley was born in Greenville on January 15, 1950 a daughter of the late John E. and Helen G. (Campbell) Bailey.  On December 28, 1975 she married Kenneth A. Ghering who survives.

She was a homemaker and had been a school bus driver for Fry, Inc. Greenville for 9 years.  She had attended the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church where she enjoyed worshipping with her church family.  She was a graduate of the Commodore Perry High School.  Shirley enjoyed gardening and camping and the times she was able to share with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter Christina L. Miller and her husband Steven of Hadley, her step mother, Phyllis Bailey of Greenville, two brothers, Steven Bailey and his wife Barb of Katy, Texas and Gordon Bailey and his wife Cynthia of Corpus Christi, Texas, 2 grandchildren, Matthew J. Miller and Deanna L. Miller both of Hadley and 2 nieces, Desiree Talbert and her husband Dave of Shanghai, China and Rebecca Bailey of Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Paul Bailey.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville following which cremation through the funeral home crematory has been selected as disposition. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, Clarks Mills with Rev.
