Roy Allen Kennedy

Roy Allen Kennedy, Ridgeville Road, Cooperstown (Plum Twp.) passed away at 12:20 am on Sunday, April 24, 2016 surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.  He was 61.

Roy was born in Meadville on November 19, 1954 a son of the late Charles Edward and Ella Marie (Cutchall) Kennedy.  On March 1, 1974 he married the former Jane Diane Spangler who survives.  He had been employed for 34 years at Channellock, Inc. Meadville where he had retired from the machine department.  He had previously served as secretary of Local 1905.  He was a member of the Chatmanville Community Church, where he had been an active member having taught Sunday School and had served on the Church Board,  he is remembered as being a handyman who was able to fix most anything.  Roy’s family was a priority in his life and was centered around his wife , sons and granddaughters, he was always there to lend a hand and be supportive in all their endeavors.

In addition to his wife of 42 years he is survived by his two sons, John Kennedy and Kory Kennedy both of Cooperstown; Three brothers, Paul Kennedy and his wife Carol of Guys Mills, Bruce Kennedy of Mars and Chuck Kennedy and his wife Carol of Guys Mills; a sister, Carol Flint and her husband Mark of Guys Mills and two granddaughters, Meghan Kennedy and Ella Kennedy both of Cooperstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Kennedy.

Family and friends may call at the Chapmanville Community Church, 1043 Le Boeuf Trail Road, Titusville on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 am until 11:00 at which time a Celebration of the life of Roy will be held with Pastor Glen Van Cise officiating.
