Ralph Lawrence Vaughn, Jr.

Ralph L. Vaughn, Jr., Mule Street, Cochranton (Greenwood Twp.) passed away unexpectedly at 4:50 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his residence of natural causes.  He was 67.

Ralph was born in Meadville on September 5, 1947 a son of the late Ralph L and Agnes (Petruna) Vaughn, Sr.   On Sept. 10, 1988 he married the former Desiree Ann Zazitski who survives.  He had been employed by the PPG, Plant # 8, Meadville in the maintenance department from which he retired after 41 years of service.  Following his retirement he enjoyed working on small engine at his residence.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed auto racing and football.  He was a member of the Reash Community Church, Cochranton where he enjoyed being with his church family.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served from 1967 – 1973.  He currently was a member and the chaplain of American Legion Post # 0587.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Tony Birtciel and his companion Heather Myers of Cochranton and a daughter, Christina Whitmore and her husband Bruce of Cochranton, a brother, Daniel Vaughn and his wife Robin of Fredonia and three grandchildren, Tyler Terrill, Joseph Whitmore and BoDee Birtciel.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral and committal service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville  with Pastor Randy Keeling of the Reash Community Church officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post # 0587.   The interment will follow at the Peters Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from10:00 -11:00.   Those wishing may share condolences and memories with the family online at wwwsnyderfh.com
