Norman M. Andrews

April 11, 1936 ~ December 25, 2016 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Norman Marshall “Butch” Andrews, Beatty School Road, Hadley (Perry Twp.)  passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 10:55 am in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.  He was 80.

 

Mr. Andrews was born on April 11, 1936 in Mill Creek Twp., Sandy Lake to the late Glenn C. and Helen (Miller) Andrews.  He was a 1954 graduate from the former Sandy Lake High School.  He had worked 38 years as a trainman and conductor for the New York Central Railroad which later became Conrail from which he had retired and was based out of Stoneboro.

 

He had served with the US Army from 1958 – 1961, where he was stationed in Germany and France and was involved in working heavy construction building road and airstrips.

 

He enjoyed travelling, trains, reading Westerns, taking care of his lawn, country music and a hearty meal always followed by some pie and spending time with his family and his dog.  He was of the Christian faith and a member of the FFA, where he was recognized as Farmer of the Year.

 

On December 28, 1972 he married the former Arnetta (Brenckle) Marburger who survives.

 

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Daniel Andrews and his wife Heather and their children, Grace, Caleb and Maeve, Pittsburgh: Robert Marburger and his wife Deborah, Renfrew,; Carl Marburger, Zelienople and his children, Kristina, Christa and Samantha and a special grandson who he raised as a son Derek Marburger, Hadley and five great grandchildren.  He is survived by his brother Larry Andrews and his wife Carolyn, Utica; four sisters, Pauline Harnett, Hadley, Anna Lou Olson and her husband Audley, Stoneboro, Linda Mouck and her husband Donivan and Judy Robertson and her husband James both of Sandy Lake. Additionally 8 nephews and 4 nieces.

 

He was preceded in death his parents, granddaughter, Cheyannia Marburger, niece Robin Andrews and a brother Eugene Andrews.

 

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 1916 at 11:00 am at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville with Rev. Dean, Olson, Nephew and pastor of the Jersey Shore Church of God officiating.  The interment with Military honors will follow at the Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  Memories and Condolences may be shared online at snyderfh.com
