James E. Mook, Andover, Ohio formerly of Cochranton passed away January 12, 2018 at his residence. He was 74.

Jim was born in Geneva, on August 4, 1943 a son of the late Walter J. and Blanche S. (Moroski) Mook.  On January 30, 1965 he married the former Nancy Ann Burr who preceded him in death on January 5, 2013.  He had been employed for 20 years at the former Greenville Steel Car and then retired after 20 years of service with the Meadville Forge.  He was a member of the Mumford Chapel and had previous memberships with the Meadville Club, The Meadville VFW and Vernon Central Station 23.

He enjoyed golfing and bowling, was an avid hunter and Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.  He had the ability to strike up a conversation with whomever he met and always enjoyed visiting with his family and friend.  He loved his cats, Tiggra and Angel.

He is survived by a son, Chris Mook and his wife Barbara, Meadville, a daughter, Kandi Ketchem and her husband Jim of Meadville, His companion, Marge Sherman of Andover, a sister, Inez Waybright and her husband Wayne of Sandy Lake, a brother and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and an brother Roger Mook.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of the Western Reserve and the many neighbors who provided comfort and support to Jim through his courageous battle with cancer.

In accordance with Jim’s wishes no services will be held and cremation through the funeral home crematory has been selected as disposition, He will be laid to rest with his wife at the Anderson Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted with Robert L. The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335 or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
