Gregory John Bogden

Gregory John Bogden, Georgetown Road, Hadley (Deer Creek Twp.) passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at UPMC Hamot, Erie. He was 70.

Gregory was born on December 1, 1946 in McKeesport, PA to John and Helen (Godula) Bogden. He graduated from Robert Morris with a degree in accounting. He had worked as manager of the state store in Mercer from which he retired.

He had served with the US Army from 1969-1974, where he was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching and playing golf with best friend, Rich. He was a long time Steeler fan, who loved spending time with his mother and brother. In his younger years, he enjoyed raising pigeons with his father for racing.

He married Carol (Gall) Kolcun, who survives.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Andrew Kolcun and wife Heidi of Cochranton and Kevin Kolcun and wife Lori of Oregon, and one brother, Larry Bogden of Pittsburgh, and four grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Jacob and Abbigail.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Sheakleyville Cemetery with Deacon Frank Luciani of St. Michaels Catholic Church officiating, and Reynolds VFW. Memories and condolences may be shared online at snyderfh.com.
