Dorothy L. (Roberts) Gravatt

July 29, 1921 ~ July 22, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Dorothy L. Gravatt, Clarks Mills (Perry Twp.) passed away at 2:04 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Countryside Convalescent Home, Mercer.  She was 94.

Dorothy was born in Salem Twp. on July 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Palm) Roberts.  On July 29, 1942 she married Roscoe Gravatt and then moved to the Clarks Mills area where she had resided for over 70 years, he had preceded her in death on August 5, 1997.

Dorothy took particular pride in maintaining her lawn and taking care of her many floral gardens.  She had a love for her family and always enjoyed the moments she was able to share with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had an appreciation for music, and at an early age she began to self teach herself to play the piano, organ, guitar and the harmonica. 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Debra Grinnell and her husband Arthur of Sandy Lake; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Gravatt of Greenville and Ryan Grinnell and his wife Joie of Hadley; 2 great grandchildren, Zane and Shae Grinnell of Hadley; Two sisters, Ivarea Campbell of Hadley and Treva Bratek and her husband William of Hadley; a brother Donald Roberts and his wife Janice of Saegertown and two sister in laws, Dolly Roberts of Stoneboro and Margaret Roberts of Hadley.

She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband; a son Wallace "Wally" Gravatt;  3 sisters,  Pearl  Smith, Ruby Clark and  Lois Rhea;  9 brother, Floyd Roberts, LeRoy Roberts, Cecil  Roberts, Malcolm Roberts, Clifford Roberts, John  Roberts, Raymond Roberts, Kenneth  Roberts and Robert “Alf” Roberts.

Private family services will be held with Dorothy being laid to rest next to her husband of 55 years at the Stevenson Cemetery, Greenville. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and the direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville.
