Donald C. Rhoades

Donald C. Rhoades, Sr., of Fredonia Road, Greenville (Delaware Twp.) passed away at 2:15 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the home of his son.  He was 84.

Donald was born in Greenville, PA on September 23, 1931, a son of the late Perle and Clara H. (Baer) Rhoades. He had been employed by Saw Hill Tube, Wheatland, PA, from which he retired after 38 1/2 years of service.  Following his retirement he enjoyed being outdoors, boating, hunting small game and fishing; he also had raised pheasants.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served from 1948-1952. He was a life member of VFW Post #7599, Reynolds, he was a past Commander of Post #919, Fredonia American Legion and a past Adjutant of Wheatland American Legion Post.

He is survived by his son, Donald C. Rhoades, Jr., of Fredonia; five grandchildren, John P. Rhoades, Chance E. Rhoades, Abby C. Rhoades, Jason W. Schmidt and Dustin D. Schmidt; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Cathy D. Rhoades, his former wife Janet Richardson, his sisters, Virena Shaffer, and Almeda Cicceroner and his brother, Clifford E. Rhoades.
