Charles J. Reese

Charles J. Reese, Jr. of Greenwood Twp., Atlantic, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 14, 2016 at his residence of natural causes. He was 67.

He was born in Greenville on March 22, 1949 a son of Charles J. and Jenny (Axtell) Reese, Sr.  He was a 1968 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School.  On December 26, 1969 he married the former Reita Herman, who survives.  Charles was a life long truck driver having started his career in 1972, he went onto be an owner / operator and later worked for National Freight, New Castle as a truck driver and having retired in 2008 as a dispatcher.  His passion for truck driving allowed him to fulfill his love for travelling and seeing the country.  He was able to make many lifelong friends through this endeavor and was well respected for his ability to be quick thinking and to resolve any situation he was confronted with.  He enjoyed his hunting camp and was proud of the many remodeling accomplishments he was able to achieve through the years.  He spent much time at the camp with his grandson Alex.  He enjoyed hunting and took pride in the upkeep and maintenance of his property and enjoyed gardening.  He is remembered by his family as being a quiet man with a good sense of humor and his ability to make the best of any situation he was challenged with.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his mother, Jenny Linder of Conneaut Lake; two daughters, Stacy Gerber and her husband Neil of Atlantic and Carrie Reese of Meadville; 3 grandchildren, Alex Longstreth of Meadville and Garrett and Elaina Gerber of Atlantic; a niece, Tina Bailey and her husband Kevin of Atlantic; two nephews, Kevin Herman of Sheakleyville and Derrick Herman of Arizona.  Special and close friends, Dave and Pam Webber of Espyville, Joe and Diane Longo of Meadville and Dawn and Ray Ferry of Meadville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Reese, Sr. and a brother Tom Reese.

A Celebration of the life of Charles will be held at a later date.  Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 3223 Perry Hwy., Sheakleyville, Pa 16151.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the funeral home to assist with the financial expenses incurred.
